只是問一下 (21)：英雄的沉默歲月有意義嗎？

不管是甚麼。
劇本都一樣。

英雄、個人、法人。
都沒有分別。
書本和錄像，談的都是奮鬥、成功、建樹。
鮮有探究那些「未知的」年日。

我稱之為「沉默的歲月」。

不過，就我們所認識的，歷史都是為勝利者而寫——只告訴讀者故事的光明面。

只要想一下：

亞伯拉罕把以撒放上祭壇。他最終得回兒子，且完好無損。在此之前，當他一路和以撒步向祭壇的時候，他在想些甚麼？

約瑟在埃及成為一人之下、萬人之上的宰相，並因此拯救了以色列人脫離饑荒。之前他在牢獄之中的艱困，留下了甚麼痕跡？

摩西分開紅海，四十年間用嗎哪餵養以色列人。在他看到荊棘火焰之前的四十年，他的日誌記錄了甚麼？

大衛建立了聯合王國。可是，當他殺死歌利亞之後，在逃亡期間，他心中有甚麼打算？

保羅是外邦人的福音使者，這是毫無疑問的。然而，當他遇上亞拿尼亞之後，他內心的掙扎和成長，又有誰知道？

甚至耶穌。
被釘、復活、升天。
對於那沉默的三天，人們有何認知？

這些問題未必引到甚麼答案。
雖然也許有些回音。
不過話又說回來，成果並不引導研究，而是隨之而來。

聖經的焦點哪裡得知？
探索的興趣和深思哪裡找？
人類發明所必需的唱反調態度哪裡尋？

我只是問一下。

Just Asking (21): Do silent years of heroes speak?

Doesn’t matter what it is.
The script stays the same.

Heroes, individuals or corporations.
The same.
Books and videos about struggles, success, and legacy.
Hardly any look into their “unknown” years.

What I label as “silent years”.

But history as is known nowadays is written for the winners—that readers are given just the brighter side of the story.

Just consider:

Abraham put Isaac on the altar. But he got him back unscathed. Didn’t we know his thoughts as he walked with Isaac towards the sacrifice?

Joseph became second in command in Egypt and saved Israelites from famine. What did he leave behind about his struggles in prison before that?

Moses split the Red Sea and fed millions with mana for 40 years. What did his diary say in those 40 years before the burning bush?

David built the United Kingdom. What were his thoughts when he was on the run after killing Goliath?

Paul became the indisputable bearer of the Gospel to Gentiles. What’s known about his growth and inner struggles after meeting Ananias?

Even Jesus.
Crucified, rose, and ascended.
What did people know about the silent three days?

These pathways may not lead to anything.
Though it might.
But again, reward doesn’t lead research; it follows.

Where’s the focus on the Scriptures to just find out?
Where’s the interest and deep thinking to explore?
Where’s the contrarian attitude so essential to human discovery?

I’m just asking.
